Highlights

• A running timer no longer gains or loses time if the Windows clock moves during a show. Countdowns were measured against the wall clock, so a time-service correction could silently add or remove stage time. They now ride a monotonic clock, while timers set to finish at a time of day still follow the corrected clock.
• Opening the controller twice can no longer disrupt a show. Every extra browser tab believed it was in charge: they chimed over each other, and two crossing a timer's end could both trigger the auto-advance and skip a speaker. EzyTimer now tells you when a controller is already open, and any extra tab starts in Backup Operator standby — visible, silent, and one click from taking over.
• The remote PIN is no longer sent across the venue network. It is proved against a single-use challenge instead, so it cannot be read off a shared conference Wi-Fi. Show Ready now also flags a shared network as a privacy risk, not only a connection one.
• Keyboard and screen-reader users can no longer tab out of an open dialog into the controls behind it.
• The app no longer starts its timer server in a way that let its own signed program be used to run other software.

Highlights

• The iPhone and iPad remote now works when you join a network after starting EzyTimer. The timer was locking on to whichever address the laptop had at launch, so if you opened the laptop, started the timer and then joined the venue Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot, the QR code advertised the old address and the timer refused the new one. Scanning the QR failed, and so did typing the address by hand.
• The pre-show connection check no longer reports a phone or laptop hotspot as a blocked network. On a hotspot the only other device is the hotspot itself, which is normal.

Notes

• If the laptop changes network mid-show, the QR panel picks up the new address within a couple of seconds. Use Refresh network in the iPad Remote panel to redraw the code immediately.
• The event-file format is unchanged from 1.9.0.

Highlights

• Show Ready now tells you before the show whether an iPhone or iPad can actually reach the laptop, instead of leaving it to be found at the venue.
• It flags a VPN that is carrying all traffic, which sends replies to the phone out through the tunnel so the remote can never load, and it names the adapter to disconnect.
• It flags a network where only the router answers, which is common on guest and IoT Wi-Fi, and points you at the laptop hotspot instead.
• The same warnings appear next to the QR code in the iPad Remote panel, where you are when connecting a device.
• Event autosaves are written again. The installed app had been trying to save into its own read-only program folder, so every autosave failed silently.

Notes

• The network check reads only this machine's routing and neighbour tables, over the local-only preflight endpoint. Nothing about your network is exposed to other devices.
• Isolation is reported as a warning, not a failure: a quiet network with nothing else switched on looks the same as one that blocks devices.
• The event-file format is unchanged from 1.9.0.

Highlights

• Renamed the product from Polytimer to EzyTimer across the Windows app, installer, controller, website, documentation, virtual camera, and release assets.

Highlights

• Closed a hole that let a web page open on the show laptop read the remote PIN, mint a display session, and follow the live show state. The relay judged whether a request was local from the network connection alone, which any website can satisfy by pointing its own domain at your machine. It now also checks the address the request asked for.
• The remote PIN is now six to eight digits, raised from four. A PIN saved under the old rule is replaced with a fresh six-digit one the next time the controller starts, shown in the usual place under the QR code.
• The event logo and finish sound arriving over the network must now be embedded in the event file. Previously a connected controller could point every screen in the room at an outside web address.

Notes

• This is a security release. Updating is recommended for anyone running EzyTimer on a shared or venue network.
• Connecting the iPad by IP address, by <laptop-name>.local, or over the laptop's own hotspot is unchanged.

Highlights

• Fixed frozen count-up timers. A count-up speaker showed “Running” while the clock sat at 00:00, with or without a target.
• Time of day no longer overflows its theme. The timer is sized for a five-character countdown, but the clock is eight characters, or eleven in 12-hour, so on several themes it ran past the edge of the screen or outside the circular clock face.
• Show Mode now says why it blocked an edit, and offers an Unlock button, instead of only pulsing the Show Mode button.
• Removed the Background settings. The Event Theme owns the display background, so there is one place to change it.
• Moved Event Files & Templates from Settings into the More menu. Saving, restoring and templates work exactly as before.

Highlights

• Presentation clicker control — run the show from a USB presenter remote. Forward advances to the next speaker, back returns to the previous one, and the blackout button starts or pauses the live timer. Off by default; switch it on in Settings.
• The clicker works from the controller and from the Display, Confidence and Green Room windows, so it keeps working whichever window you clicked last.
• Confidence view: long agenda titles no longer push the progress bar and the bottom of the “up next” panel off the screen.
• Confidence view: the presenter’s name is no longer repeated three times — the bottom strip is a lookahead only, and the timer stays the largest thing on screen.
